Built on February 22nd, 1963, then shipped to Koepp Chevrolet in La Vernia, Texas.
In the hands of a “hoarder” for many years stored in a barn in upstate NY along with many 1960's and 1970's Corvettes and Muscle Cars, the Corvette showed ONLY 4,000 ORIGINAL MILES!!!
The Current owner came across this RARE Corvette purely by coincidence when he was purchasing another Corvette. He picked the Corvette up in November of 2017. See the Article in the NCRS Corvette Restorer Magazine Volume 48 Summer 2021.
The Owner spent countless hours and months studying the car. During that time he connected with Tony Avedisian author of The Definitive 1963 Corvette RPO Z06 who after many conversations sent him a copy of the book. The book is a treasure trove of history, facts and pictures. David Burroughs, Bloomington Gold Founder in the forward states that “if you are considering an investment grade Z06, this book is not only essential IT IS MANDATORY'. Referring to the book among other sources he researched every part number, Learned and AUTHENTICATED that ALL the COMPONENTS with the exception of the brake shoes, ignition coil and exhaust ARE ORIGINAL
The following parts were original to the car, all been restored/rebuilt:
1) Master cylinder #48327 R2
2) Power brake booster and check valve
3) Wheel cylinders
4) Fuel pump #4657 dated 2/63
5) Distributor#1111022 Dated 2 M 6
6) Fuel injection Unit #7017375 Serial# 2401
7) Intake manifold #3826810 dated 9/25/62
8) Engine “2870” #3782870 dated A 24 3
9) Cylinder heads #3782461 dated A 23 & L 13 3.
10) Oil pan
11) Valve covers
12) Transmission
13) Rear differential 4:11 ratio
14) Rear spring
15) Head light motors
16) Wiper motor
17) Alternator
18) Starter
19) Exhaust manifolds
20) Gages
21) Radio AM/FM
The Frame- Off Restoration began in September of 2018 and is documented with photos throughout the process.
During the restoration many N.O.S parts were used listed below:
1) Front grille
2) Rocker moldings
3) “091” ignition coil
4) Gaskets
5) Shifter knob
6) Door handles
7) Distributor cap
8) Fuel injection parts (needed for rebuild)
